Freshly Picked & Handcrafted
We like to think of ourselves as the digital equivalent of that quirky shop at the edge of town — the one with the creaky floors, the smell of fresh cedar, and an eclectic mix of things you didn't know you needed until about three minutes ago. We're a small crew of makers, growers, and slightly stubborn dreamers on Manitoulin Island, stocking this general store the only way that makes sense to us: old-school sweat, real handmade goods, and just enough internet wizardry to get it to your door.
The hand crafted side? That's where we lock ourselves in the workshop, drink way too much coffee, and craft things by hand. If a piece of wood has an odd grain or a stitch is slightly off, we call it "artisanal character." If it's wildly crooked, we don't sell it (but we might keep it for ourselves).
The rest? For the practical homesteading gear we can't physically make without causing a minor local zoning violation, we partner with suppliers we trust. Your package might cross a time zone or two, but it saves us from turning the living room into a permanent shipping warehouse.

Welcome to Wild Apple General Store
We believe a general store should have a bit of everything — and a personality to match.
Thanks for stopping by, supporting a real Ontario business, and keeping our coffee mugs full.

"All the Apples"
The core details, our juicy backstory, and why we do this.
The Origin Story
Planted by Birds. Kept by Sheer Will. Tended with Heart and Grit.
The birds planted our apple trees years ago — seeds carried from an old orchard that used to be down the road. Nine, maybe ten varieties. Nobody came to prune them. Nobody tended the soil. They just kept growing anyway, dropping wild apples onto our little acre-and-a-half like they knew something we didn't.
We know how that feels.

Manitoulin Island
Manitoulin Island, located in Lake Huron, Ontario, is the largest freshwater island in the world.
Spanning 2,766 square kilometers, it is famed for its rich Anishinaabe First Nations culture, over 100 inland lakes, and dramatic Niagara Escarpment cliffs.
The permanent population of Manitoulin Island is approximately 12,600 to 14,800 full-time residents. During the summer months, this number swells to around 40,000 due to tourists and seasonal cottagers.
